Smart phones have been around for a good while now and chances are that you are conditioned to this one simple trick that savvy website owners are using to make it easier for you to call their business directly from their website using your smartphone. If you aren’t taking advantage of it, you should. Not doing so is costing you money.

Have you been to a website using your mobile device and you wanted to call them but you had to copy and paste their phone number — from the site to your phone dialer? Yeah, that’s annoying! And, a lot of people, simply won’t do it. A lot of people will simply back out of the site and skip on to a site where they can “click to call”.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t like losing a single customer over something simple. So…. here’s the code you need to add to all your phone numbers on your website to turn them into “click to call” buttons.

Let’s say your phone number is 1-888-888-8888, the following code is the HTML markup you need to use to turn that phone number into a “click to call” button.

<a href=”tel:+18888888888″>1-888-888-8888</a>

That’s it! It’s pretty simple. But that one simple website trick is guaranteed to generate more phone calls for you. And, here’s a little tidbit, because it makes your website a little more mobile friendly, Google is likely to reward you a little bit too.
