Google offers an amazing free service called Google Fonts. It’s a web font service where you can use their fonts in your web projects, Photoshop projects, and through many other tools. They have some awesome fonts available and here are a few of our favorites for use in headlines and titles.
Play is designed with large, open counters, ample lowercase x-heights and a corporate, yet friendly appearance. The combination of these qualities give Play both a high legibility and readability.
Oswald is a reworking of the classic style historically represented by the ‘Alternate Gothic’ sans serif typefaces. The characters of Oswald have been re-drawn and reformed to better fit the pixel grid of standard digital screens.
Instead of compromising the design of the letters to force connections, Lobster does what lettering artist do. It draws many versions of each letter and a lot of different letter-pairs (aka “ligatures”) so it always uses the best possible variation of each letter depending of the context of the letter inside each word.
Open Sans was designed with an upright stress, open forms and a neutral, yet friendly appearance. It was optimized for print, web, and mobile interfaces, and has excellent legibility characteristics in its letterforms.
Gravitas One is modeled on the “UK fat face” which is a kind of very heavy advertising type created during the industrial revolution in England. The letter forms are characterized by an attention getting and strong contrast between the very heavy vertical shapes and the thin horizontal ones.
